Think Sleeping Beauty on steroids.
I enjoyed this book
, although I was tempted at times to put it down because of overwritten prose. There was so much back story explaining the upcoming action that I often found myself thinking enough already – get to the action.
In spite of the slow spots, the author weaves an interesting take on the classical Sleeping Beauty fairytale and does an admirable job of world building. The twist ending felt a bit forced which took away from its satisfaction. It would be fair to say I couldn’t put this book down.

It’s been a long time since I read Spindle’s End. I remember loving it as a child though. Great book and great review.
